Job summary

A Redditch-based manufacturing employer is seeking a General Operative to join a skilled team. You will operate machinery, weigh products, and ensure accurate paperwork. The role involves paint tinting, spraying, and quality checks, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and clean working practices.

You will work Monday to Thursday 8:00am–4:30pm and Friday 8:00am–1:00pm. The position offers a permanent route for the right candidate with a pension and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• GCSEs in Maths and English to grade C or above are expected.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery including weighing scales, pumps and mixers.
• Check goods in against paperwork and system records.
• Color match and tint paints to customer standards (solvent and water-based).
• Paint spraying application and quality checking of finishes.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, organisation and housekeeping.

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous manufacturing experience
• GCSE's including Maths & English to a grade C or above
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work methodically and follow procedures
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
• Full driving licence is
• weights of up to 16/25kg (lifted within H&S guidelines)

CBT/Reach/Bendi qualified would be advantageous but not essential for the role

Duties Include:

• Operating machinery to include weighing scales, filling pumps and mixers Checking goods in against paperwork and system records
• Colour matching, tinting paints to customer standards using both solvent and water-based paints, in solid and metallic shades
• Paint Spraying application
• Quality checking finished products
• Maintaining high standards of accuracy, organisation, and housekeeping

Shift:

Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4:30pm and Friday 08:00 to 1:00pm

Pay:

£12.71 per hour

with potential of an increase if made permanent with the company.
