Job summary

MET Recruitment UK LTD is recruiting GENERAL OPERATIVES for our client in Swadlincote (DE11). A long-established manufacturing business serves the construction sector from modern facilities across the UK and Ireland, offering a clear path to permanent employment.

Shifts are permanent afternoons, with 2pm–10:30pm Mon-Thu and 2pm–8pm Fri. Rate is £13.10 per hour with overtime opportunities; temporary roles may convert to permanent after 13 weeks for suitable candidates.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and reliable attendance record.
• Flexibility to work shifts and overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Operating manufacturing machinery and production equipment - including press machines & industrial guillotine working across a number of departments.
• Loading and unloading materials safely
• Assisting with fabrication, assembly, and finishing processes
• Conducting quality checks to ensure products meet company standards
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment
• Following all health and safety procedures
• Supporting team members to achieve production targets

This is working for a long-established manufacturing business that produce items for the construction industry. The company has been manufacturing since 1989 and operate from modern production facilities serving customers across the UK and Ireland. This company is going from strength to strength & a fantastic place to grow a career!
