Job summary

Amey is seeking a General Operative/Handyperson for the Nuclear Restoration services in Oldbury. The role supports Complex Facilities Teams on and off site, with a four-day week (Mon-Thu) and a 37.5-hour week.

Title: General Operative/Handyperson

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent General Operative/Handyperson to come and join our team on our Nuclear Restoration services account in NRS Oldbury, Oldbury Naite, Thornbury, South Gloucestershire BS35 1RQ

The standard hours of work are 37.5 hours a week, compressed to a four-day week (Monday – Thursday)

The General Handy Person plays an important part in supporting the Complex Facilities Teams both on and off site.

What You Will Do
  • Collaborating with a dynamic team to perform general maintenance tasks and assist tradespeople on site.
  • Taking on various FM duties as directed by the team manager, including porterage, deliveries, collections off site, postage, movement of infrastructure, and escorting of sub contractors and vehicles.
  • Maintaining high health and safety standards across the contract.
  • Contributing to local and business zero carbon initiatives, strategically working towards sustainability goals.

This is a physically demanding role that involves regular manual handling, heavy lifting, and other hands‑on tasks as part of the day‑to‑day operation.

What You Will Bring
  • Full UK Driving Licence required.

  • Solid experience in a facilities or caretaker role in an industrial or warehouse setting
