Job summary

Amey seeks a Facilities Manager to oversee the Winfrith estate, ensuring safe, compliant day-to-day operations on behalf of the client. You will lead an on-site multi-disciplinary team, monitor service delivery, and manage budgets and contractor performance within a highly regulated environment.

The role requires NEBOSH or IOSH Construction, knowledge of H&S legislation, and experience in budgeting. Nuclear decommissioning context is a plus; full-time on-site work with generous benefits.

  • Proven facilities management experience in regulated/complex environments.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and policy implementation.
  • Experience in budgeting and cost control.
  • First line people management experience.
  • Customer relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operation of the estate on behalf of the client.
  • Ensure site compliance with health and safety rules, standards, and policy.
  • Monitor service delivery and contractor performance via audits and KPIs.
  • Lead and guide on-site teams to meet targets and deliver high-quality services.
  • Manage budgets and add-on works, contributing to value for money.
  • Support project opportunities above £25K and radiological training as required.

The standard hours of work are37.5 hours per week, 07.00am – 17:00pm Monday – Thursday.

Amey delivers essential workplace and facilities management services across 17 nuclear sites and regional offices nationwide, supporting the safe decommissioning of the UK’sfirst‑generationnuclear sites. This is highly regulated, purposeful work that plays a vital role in protecting people and the environment, while offeringlong‑termcareer security within a growing and nationally important sector.

TheFacilities Managertakes responsibility for the safe,compliantand effectiveday‑to‑daymanagement of the Winfrith estate, acting on behalf of the client and leading amulti‑disciplinaryon‑siteteam. This is ahands‑on, visible leadership role within a highly regulated andpurpose‑drivenenvironment, supporting thelong‑termdecommissioning of a nationally significant nuclear site.

What you will do:
  • Take responsibility for theday‑to‑dayoperation of the estate/building on behalf of the client.
  • Make sure the site meets all health & safety rules, legalrequirementsand company policies.Identifyrisks and ensure safe ways of working are in place and followed by everyone.
  • Lead andmonitorservice delivery and contractor performance through audits, spot checks and KPIs.
  • Make sure teams understand their role in deliveringhigh‑qualityservices and meeting targets.
  • Providefirst‑linepeople management, including performance management and disciplinary processes.Managing both Hard and Soft FM services, including reception, grounds,cleaningand M&E Services.
  • Maintain environmental standards, including supporting sustainability andzero‑carboninitiatives.
  • Manage site budgets andadditionalworks, supporting financial performance and value for money.
  • Support with Project opportunities above £25K.
  • Undertake radiological and environmental training and be appointed to supervise within theclientsprocedures.
What you will bring:
  • Proven experience in aFacilitiesManagement role, ideally within a regulated or complex environment (nuclear experience desirable but not essential).
  • NEBOSH or IOSH Construction.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and implementation of policies.
  • Good working knowledge of CAFM / EAM systems (such as Concept or Maximo).
  • Sound knowledge of service delivery and KPIs.
  • Demonstrable experience of budgeting and managing costs.
  • Experience of first line management.
  • Customer relationship management.
  • Strongpeople‑managementcapability with confidence handling performance and employee processes.
