Job summary

Amey is seeking a permanent On-Site Plumber to support our Nuclear Restoration Services contract on-site at Oldbury Power Station, Bristol. The role involves routine and non-routine maintenance, installation and repairs of pipework and sanitary systems, mains water repairs, and risk assessments.

You will have an NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing and Heating, valid UK driving licence, and experience in a commercial FM environment. A full UK driving licence and flexibility to work across site are required.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing and Heating.
  • Unvented water systems ticket desirable.
  • Water Regulations ticket desirable.
  • Experience in a commercial facilities management or similar plumbing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Routine and non-routine maintenance, installation and repairs of pipework and sanitary systems.
  • Mains water supply repairs.
  • Fault finding, identification and repair of life expired equipment.
  • Inspections, audits and risk assessments.
  • Service, maintenance and installation of vented and unvented water heaters.
  • Assist with other routine maintenance tasks as required.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the role.

Job description

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a permanent On-Site Plumber to join Amey, supporting our Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) contract on-site at Oldbury Power Station, Bristol (BS35 1RQ).

The standard hours of work are 37.5 hours over a 4 day week, Monday – Wednesday 07.15 – 17:00 and Thursday 07:25 – 17:00.

Amey delivers essential workplace and Facilities Management services across 17 nuclear sites and regional offices nationwide, supporting the safe decommissioning of the UK’s first‑generation nuclear sites. This is highly regulated, purposeful work that plays a vital role in protecting people and the environment, while offering long‑term career security within a growing and nationally important sector.

What you will do:
  • Routine and non-routine maintenance, installation and repairs of pipework, sanitary.
  • Mains water supply repairs.
  • Fault finding Identification of life expired equipment, checking, repairing and making good faults.
  • Inspections, Audits and Risk Assessments.
  • Service, maintenance and installation of vented and unvented water heaters.
  • Assist with other routine maintenance tasks which may not be plumbing related.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the role.
What you will bring:
  • NVQ level 2 in Plumbing and Heating with experience in plumbing maintenance.
  • Valid unvented ticket is desirable.
  • Valid water regulations ticket is desirable.
  • Experience in operating light plant.
  • Legionella awareness and compliance is desirable.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Experience in a commercial environment, in Facilities Management or other plumbing repairs/ maintenance environments.
