Job summary

Mitchell Maguire Limited is seeking a General Manager for manufactured joinery to lead the internal team and drive day-to-day manufacturing activities while growing sales of a bespoke joinery range.

The role requires strong leadership across production managers and site staff, overseeing operations, budgeting, health and safety, and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery. On-site role with potential site visits in Wiltshire.

Qualifications

• Must have management experience in building supplies.
• Experience in merchant, trade, timber, joinery or furniture environments preferred.
• Desirable understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, driven and ambitious. Proficient with computers.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal team, daily manufacturing activities and drive sales for bespoke joinery.
• Oversee daily operations to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
• Lead, support and motivate production managers, team leaders and site staff.
• Plan labour, materials and equipment; monitor budgets and performance.
• Act as main client contact and resolve queries professionally.
• Maintain safety standards and continuously improve processes.
• May visit sites when required.

Key Responsibilities

• General Manager position responsible for managing the internal team, day-to-day manufacturing activities and driving sales across the a bespoke joinery product range
• Oversee daily operations to ensure timely, high-quality delivery
• Lead, support, and motivate production managers, team leaders and site staff, ensuring strong team performance
• Plan and coordinate labour, materials, and equipment while monitoring budgets and performance
• Act as a main client contact, handling queries and resolving issues professionally
• Maintain systems, health & safety standards, and continuously improve processes and ways of working
• May be a requirement to visit site when needed

Ideal Applicant

• Must have Management experience across the building supplies industry
• Ideal experience within merchant, trade, timber, joinery or furniture environments
• Highly advantageous to have experience & understanding of manufacturing processes
