We are seeking to hire a General Manager for our new aquarium in Bray, Co. Wicklow, Ireland.

The General Manager Will

• Maximise visitor numbers to the aquarium.
• Be responsible for planning, staff management, finance, and health & safety.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, oversee staff recruitment and training.
• Develop marketing strategies and manage budgets.
• Collaborate closely with Directors, prepare management reports, and manage budgets.

Main Duties

• Open and close the premises daily.
• Manage reception and shop areas, maintain stock levels.
• Oversee staffing, including hiring and staff care in collaboration with senior management.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies.
• Adhere to budgets set by Directors.
• Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports and manage cash flows.
• Handle general office duties, including correspondence and customer queries.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards, ensuring health and safety regulations are followed.
• Work closely with the Head Aquarist.
• Follow fire, health, and safety procedures, and participate in drills.
• Report incidents and complete necessary documentation.
• Oversee daily operations and staff management.
