Job summary

Five Guys in Greater London is seeking a General Manager to lead store operations, coach the team and own the P&L. You will drive sales, ensure top customer service, and uphold our high standards of food safety and hygiene.

You will thrive in a high-volume environment, inspire staff, develop managers, and deliver exceptional guest experiences while controlling costs and maximizing profitability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of General Management experience in a high-volume hospitality or QSR.
• Proven track record in driving customer satisfaction and Mystery Shopper results.
• Strong P&L ownership and ability to drive sales while controlling costs.
• Strategic leadership with talent development and succession planning.
• Expertise in Food Safety, Health & Safety and maintaining top hygiene ratings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee store day-to-day operations and results; lead, inspire and coach teams.
• Create an awesome working environment and role model company values.
• Develop and manage the team, while supporting delivery of high-quality burgers and service.
• Own the store's P&L; drive sales while controlling labour and COGS.
• Ensure smooth daily operations and long-term talent development and planning.

AS A GENERAL MANAGER, YOU'LL BE RESPONSBILE FOR

• Our people – Being accountable and responsible for your entire store and people within, leading from the front and being hands-on, working on the line and in the dining area
• Creating an awesome working environment where people are happy to come to work and have fun while role modelling our Values - Competitive, Enthusiastic, Family, Get It Done and Integrity
• Developing and managing the team, while supporting the delivery of perfect burgers and fries – jumping in and working on the line shoulder to shoulder with our Crew and Managers
• Having full ownership of your P&L, which means you will need to drive sales whilst controlling costs
• Your store will need to run smoothly on the day-to-day operations and think about long-term planning. Spotting potential and developing your team to ensure there is a strong talent pipeline
• Responsible for managing any HR issues while also being able to reward and recognise when needed

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• Experience:You have a minimum of2+ years of General Management experiencein a high-volume hospitality or QSR environment. You are a seasoned operator who knows how to run a business.
• Customer Satisfaction:You are obsessed with the guest experience and have the numbers to prove it. You have a track record of driving customer satisfaction scores, increasing engagement, and consistently delivering excellent Mystery Shopper results and positive reviews.
• Financial Expertise:You havefull P&L ownership. You are an expert at driving top-line sales, managing complex budgets, and controlling costs (Labour/COGS) to maximise GP without compromising on quality.
• Strategic Leadership:You don't just manage a team; you build a culture. You have a history of developing managers, planning succession, and creating a strong talent pipeline.
• Operational Excellence:You set the standard. You have total command of Food Safety, Health & Safety compliance, and maintaining 5-star hygiene ratings across the business.
