Reporting to the Regional General Manager, we are now looking for a General Manager to lead our hotel and its team to success. We’re looking for a leader, someone who knows running a hotel is about the guests and the team, as well as the finances. We want someone who will coach and develop our people, whilst delivering great service across the operation and achieving the hotel's commercial goals.

ABode Canterbury is a stylish, four AA star, 72-bedroom boutique hotel on Canterbury High Street, which houses our own restaurant brand, Brasserie ABode.

Bonus: We have a General Manager bonus scheme at all our hotels—more details will be provided at the interview!

The role - our next General Manager will:

1. Provide day-to-day leadership, driving the business strategy in all areas of the operation.
2. Drive sales and revenue, balancing costs against these to meet our business targets.
3. Be charismatic, engaging, and people-centric—always aware of what's going on with the team.
4. Have good commercial skills and awareness—making decisions that make sound business sense.
5. Know how to analyze and manage the hotel P&L to success.
6. Have strong IT skills and be proficient in using digital platforms.
7. Develop and lead the people culture of the property with engaging and committed communication.
8. Work well with the central support teams, implementing group strategies while also driving local initiatives to enhance the hotel.
9. Have previous experience as a hotel General Manager in a similar style property.

Our GMs meet at least twice a year in person and have fortnightly calls—providing ongoing support and updates across the business.
