General Manager People & Capability, Canterbury

This is an exciting time to be in the energy distribution industry. Not only is this sector experiencing unprecedented growth in South Canterbury, but the emergence of renewable technologies has created endless possibilities throughout New Zealand.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, Alpine Energy offers flexibility to enable the General Manager People & Capability to be located in Christchurch and be onsite 3 days a week in Timaru. Accommodation is negotiable if required.

The General Manager People and Capability is responsible for leading the successful delivery of Alpine Energy Limited (AEL) People Strategy – Accelerate, aligning it with the overall AEL strategy and objectives.

Key accountabilities include:
  1. Proactively develop consistent HR policies and strategies relating to remuneration, retention, performance management, succession planning, and other people matters across AEL.
  2. Provide strategic advice to Managers regarding People and Capability (P&C) matters.
  3. Ensure the HR unit provides high-quality, efficient service to all users within the approved budget.
  4. Develop processes that support the achievement of the organisation's core values, strategic, and operational objectives.
