Job summary

MEL Environmental Solutions Ltd in Cardiff is seeking a General Builder to join our on-site team. You will lead and coordinate activities, bringing multi-skilled construction expertise to deliver projects efficiently.

The role covers bricklaying, underpinning, concreting, drainage, and more, with hands-on work including operating a mini digger/dumper. Travel to sites is required, and you’ll work closely with Project Managers to meet high standards and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Construction professional with multi-skilled experience capable of taking charge.
• Strong organisational and planning skills to manage day-to-day site activities.
• Clean driving license and willingness to travel/work away.
• Ability to drive and operate a mini digger/dumper (essential).

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate on-site teams to deliver projects efficiently and to a high standard.
• Apply multi-skilled construction skills from bricklaying to underpinning, concreting and drainage.
• Operate machinery such as mini diggers and dumpers on site.
• Mix concrete, demolish, dig and restore residential properties to their original condition.
• Utilise demolition hammers and other tools with PPE and HAVS controls in place.
• Travel to project sites as required.
• Work closely with Project Managers to ensure alignment and progress.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and coordinate teams on-site to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest standard.
• Bring your multi-skilled construction expertise to life - from bricklaying to underpinning, concreting, drainage, and more.
• Operate machinery like mini diggers and dumpers

• Get hands-on with tools, from demolition hammers to jigsaws (we've got the latest gear, and we prioritise your safety with PPE and HAVS controls).
