Job summary

Sovereign Network Group is recruiting a General Builder to join the Property Team across Newbury, Thatcham and Reading. The role is full-time (40 hours) with travel between sites, and a business van plus fuel card will be provided for on-the-road duties.

You will perform a range of general repairs and maintenance on our homes as part of the Responsive Repairs Team, handling drainage, roofing, brickwork and flooring tasks with a focus on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a Building trade or proven experience in the trade.
• Experience working in occupied and empty premises with good customer service.
• Strong health and safety mindset and knowledge of best practices.
• Enjoys working as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general building repairs and maintenance across our homes as part of the Responsive Repairs Team.
• Digging underground drainage, repairing pipework and installing soakaways.
• Roofing and roof repairs, assess roof integrity and guttering repairs.
• Re-pointing, rendering, tiling and cement works.
• Fencing, posts, feather edge, chain link and panels.
• Laying self-levelling compound, flooring and floor tiles.
• Repairing brickwork and blockwork.

£33,696.00 - £37,234.00 Per year

We’re currently recruiting for an experienced General Builder to join our Property Team in our Newbury, Thatcham and Reading locality. As you’ll spend a fair amount of time on the road we will provide you with a business use van and fuel card so you’ll not be out of pocket.

What you’ll do:

As a Builder you’ll carry out all forms of general building repairs and maintenance across our homes as part of our Responsive Repairs Team.

• Digging underground drainage, repairing collapsed pipework and installing soakaways.
• Roofing and roof repairs, roof problem solving, assessing roof integrity and guttering repairs.
• Re-pointing, minor rendering, tiling and cement works.
• All types of fencing, posts, feather edge, chain link and panels.
• Laying self-levelling compound, flooring and floor tiles
• Repairing brickwork and blockwork.

What you’ll need:

• Ideally, you’ll have a minimum of NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a Building trade OR have proven experience working in the trade.
• You will have experience of working in both occupied and empty premises and be able to demonstrate good customer service skills.
• Have a strong health and safety mindset with knowledge of health & safety best practices.
• Enjoy working as part of a team.

What else do you need to know?

• This is a full-time 40 hour role
• Due to a requirement to travel within this role, candidates must hold a full and current driving license with a minimum of 1 years driving experience
