Job summary

Baxterstorey Uk is seeking a General Assistant to support breakfast and lunch service at Borehamwood, Monday to Friday. You will prepare beverages, assist with meals, and ensure the front-of-house area is clean and well-organised for students and staff in a busy educational setting.

The role requires good Food Safety knowledge, a flexible, customer-focused attitude, and strong organisational skills to help the team deliver high standards at mealtimes.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering preferred.
• Barista skills or ability to learn barista routines.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and serving of meals and drinks according to menus and recipes.
• Maintain cleanliness of front of house areas and organise dishes and utensils.
• Follow proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure safety.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
• Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during meals.
• Participate in training sessions related to service procedures and standards.

Job description

• Maintain cleanliness of the front of house areas including organising dishes and utensils.
• Following proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
• Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
• Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes, addressing any concerns or special dietary needs.
• Participate in training sessions and meeting related to food service procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
