Job summary

BaxterStorey UK is seeking a General Assistant to support our education catering teams in Guildford. You will assist with breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner, ensuring meals are prepared and served to high standards while maintaining a welcoming dining experience for students and staff.

This role emphasizes food safety, teamwork and strong organizational skills. Experience in education catering is ideal, but a positive, flexible attitude and a willingness to learn are equally valued.

As a General Assistant you will…

• Assist in the preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner according to established menus and recipes.
• Maintain cleanliness of the front of house areas including organising dishes and utensils.
• Following proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
• Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
• Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes, addressing any concerns or special dietary needs.
• Participate in training sessions and meeting related to food service procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Ideally have experience working within Education catering
• Have good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Flexible with a can-do attitude, customer focused.
• Fun and enthusiastic
• Have excellent organization skills.
• Demonstrate great attention to detail.
• Be a team player and enjoy succeeding as a team.
