Job summary

Aramark UK is recruiting a General Service Assistant at Alexander Barracks, Pirbright, GU24 0QQ. This permanent, full-time role covers 35 hours per week across five days (including some weekends). Shift times include early and late slots.

You will help deliver a welcoming service to customers and support with food and drink service. You will enjoy on-site parking, a uniform, access to an Employee Benefits App, pension contributions, life assurance, and opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

• Friendly, customer-focused attitude.
• Experience in food service or hospitality is a bonus but not essential; full training provided.
• Must be 18+ and eligible to work in the UK (security clearance required).
• Food hygiene certificate - Level 2 desirable; training provided.
• Basic numeracy skills.
• Own or reliable transport due to remote location.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts.

Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages to customers.
• Clean back of house areas, crockery, and cutlery.
• Clean and tidy counter, light equipment/machines, preparation, and public areas.
• Perform basic cold food preparation and made to order services.
• Restock goods and ensure appropriate displays of merchandise.
• Report to line manager any feedback, complaints, suggestions, stock needs, breakages, faults, or hazards identified during the work.
• Perform daily paperwork.
• Keeps diligent records as required.
• Follow food hygiene and safety procedures.

Pay rate: £12.71 per hour
Contract type: Permanent, full time, 35 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 (including some weekends)
Shift times: Early shift 0600 until 1330, Late shift 1230 until 2000

What you’ll be doing:

As a General Service Assistant, you’ll be front and centre in delivering a welcoming experience to our customers. Your day-to-day will include:

• Serve food and beverages to customers

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience in food service or hospitality is a bonus – but not essential, full training provided
• Must be 18+
• Eligibility to work in the UK and have lived in the UK for at least 3 years (security clearance required)
• Food hygiene certificate - Level 2 desirable. Relevant training will be provided
• Basic numeracy skills.
• Own or reliable transport required due to remote location and limited public transport
• Ability to work a variety of shifts.
