Job summary

Aramark UK is seeking a General Service Assistant at Claro Barracks, Ripon. You will welcome customers, serve food and beverages, and keep front-of-house areas clean and organized. You’ll restock displays, handle basic food prep, and help with daily paperwork while following strict hygiene standards.

The role is permanent, part-time (30 hours per week, 5 days in 7 with weekend shifts). Pay is £12.71 per hour for over 21s.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and eligible to work in the UK.
• UK residency of at least 3 years for security clearance.
• Food hygiene certificate Level 2 desirable; training provided
• Basic numeracy skills required
• Own or reliable transport due to remote location and limited public transport
• Willing to work a variety of shifts.

Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages to customers.
• Clean back of house areas, crockery, and cutlery.
• Clean and tidy counter, light equipment/machines, preparation, and public areas.
• Perform basic cold food preparation and made to order services.
• Restock goods and ensure appropriate displays of merchandise.
• Report to line manager feedback, complaints, suggestions, stock needs, breakages, faults, or hazards.
• Perform daily paperwork and keep diligent records.
• Follow food hygiene and safety procedures.

What you'll do:

As a General Service Assistant, you'll be front and centre in delivering a welcoming experience to our customers. Your day-to-day will include:

• Serve food and beverages to customers
• Clean back of house areas, crockery, and cutlery

What we're looking for:

• A friendly, customer-focused attitude
• Previous experience in food service or hospitality is a bonus - but not essential, full training provided
• Must be 18+
• Eligibility to work in the UK and have lived in the UK for at least 3 years (security clearance required)
• Food hygiene certificate - Level 2 desirable. Relevant training will be provided
• Basic numeracy skills.
• Own or reliable transport required due to remote location and limited public transport
• Ability to work a variety of shifts.
