Job summary

Speedy Hire is seeking a General Assistant to support daily depot operations in Poole. You will help with deliveries, collections, loading/unloading, stock control, and customer service at the hire desk. The role requires a driving licence and strong communication skills.

This position offers a clear pathway for development, a 42-hour week structure, and a pro-rata salary of £29,572 per annum. The company emphasises ESG initiatives and flexible working within a balanced workload.

Qualifications

• Valid driving licence and basic IT skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to adapt quickly to support others.

• Experience in customer-facing roles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work across all depot areas to keep operations running smoothly.
• Assist with deliveries and collections, loading/unloading vehicles.
• Conduct basic electrical testing of equipment where required.
• Maintain stock control and prepare items for hire desk service.
• Assist customers at the hire desk and provide helpful information.

Role - General Assistant

Location - Poole

Days of work - Mon - Fri, Times 07:30 - 17:00 - 42 hours

£29,572 per annum, pro rata

Working in all areas of the depot, you will play a busy but key role in making sure our depot runs smoothly. On a day-to-day basis, you can expect to be working both independently and directly with other colleagues in any area of the depot. This can include: making deliveries and/or collections, assisting with vehicle loading/unloading, electrical testing of our equipment, stock control, or serving customers on the hire desk.
