Job summary

Holroyd Howe is seeking a General Assistant in Guildford to support day-to-day food and service delivery across the school. You will help ensure pupils, staff and visitors receive high-quality meals with care, efficiency and attention to detail.

You will join Holroyd Howe, a leading UK contract caterer for independent schools, with a focus on allergen controls, training and catering standards in a school environment. This is a term-time only role.

Qualifications

  • Ideally have experience working within contract or high-volume catering.
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Flexible with a can-do attitude and customer-focused.
  • Be fun, enthusiastic and have excellent organisation skills.
  • Demonstrate great attention to detail and be a team player.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation, service and presentation of food to a high standard.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and service areas.
  • Assist with food labelling, temperature checks and allergen controls.
  • Provide excellent customer service to pupils, staff and visitors.
  • Set up and clear service areas and support daily operations.
  • Follow all food safety, health & safety and safeguarding procedures.
  • Contribute to hospitality events and occasional out-of-hours functions.
  • Ensure allergen controls are followed and championed.

About the role:

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable General Assistant to support the day-to-day food and service delivery across the school. This role is essential in ensuring pupils, staff, and visitors receive high-quality, nutritious meals served with care, efficiency, and attention to detail.

You will be joining Holroyd Howe, one of the UK’s leading contract caterers, providing fresh innovative food services solely to independent schools and colleges. Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
