Job summary

Birmingham City Council's Cityserve catering service is seeking a General Assistant for school kitchens. You will help keep the kitchen clean, support balanced menus, and tailor meals to pupils' dietary needs.

You will work with managers to ensure high-quality food delivery in busy school environments. Essential qualifications include Food Safety Level 2 and Allergy Awareness certificates, plus experience in a similar environment.

As a General Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Assist in keeping the kitchen clean & tidy
• maintain a balanced diet and varied menus
• be aware of the care users' needs and dietary preferences
• You will work collaboratively with managers and supervisors to ensure the first-class delivery of food in schools kitchens both in and outside of performance times.
• Previous kitchen experience is essential to this role
