Job summary

Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Consultant in General Anaesthesia to join a 45-strong team across multiple sites including the Bristol Royal Infirmary. The role supports a flexible service with responsibilities across adult anaesthesia for diverse surgical specialties and on-call duties.

Applicants should hold FRCA or equivalent and be near CCT or CESR eligibility; there is a strong focus on teaching, research and multidisciplinary collaboration within an academic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• FRCA or equivalent and within 6 months of the expected CCT date at interview, or CESR.
• Evidence of thorough and broad training in tertiary general anaesthesia.
• Ability to work flexibly to ensure smooth service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide adult general anaesthetic services across a range of specialties.
• Contribute to the general on-call rota and weekend rota across Bristol Royal Infirmary and Weston General Hospital.
• Split duties across Bristol Royal Infirmary, Weston General Hospital, St Michael’s Hospital, Bristol Eye Hospital and South Bristol Community Hospital.
• Participate in teaching, governance, audit and CPD activities.
