Job summary

EY is seeking a Senior Consultant specializing in generative AI to design and build GenAI solutions for clients. This hands-on, delivery-focused role will develop GenAI components, support architecture decisions, and work directly with client teams to move solutions into production.

The role offers a pathway to leadership, with emphasis on responsible AI, security, and scalable delivery across insurance use cases. Hybrid working arrangements at EY are available in the UK.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on delivery experience on GenAI/AI/ML projects (≈1 year GenAI).
• Experience with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) and orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with RAG, embeddings, and vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector).
• Familiarity with agentic architectures, function/tool calling, and structured outputs.
• Prompt engineering and evaluation with awareness of guardrails and safety.
• Experience with at least one cloud GenAI platform (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI).
• Solid programming skills and API design/ integration knowledge.
• Awareness of responsible AI and secure handling of sensitive data.

Responsibilities

• Build GenAI solution components: RAG pipelines, prompt orchestration, tool-calling integrations.
• Support architecture decisions and ensure reliability, security, performance and cost awareness.
• Contribute to delivery: implementation, testing, debugging, and issue resolution.
• Apply engineering standards and reusable accelerators to projects.
• Explain decisions and progress to project teams and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior consultants and guide delivery teams.
