Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking an Applied AI/ML Lead Engineer in Glasgow to design, build, and productionize Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions. You will deliver GenAI apps using LLMs, RAG, and tool-using agents on AWS and cloud-native platforms.

The role emphasizes modern AI engineering workflows, secure coding, observability, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to turn complex requirements into scalable AI systems.

Qualifications

• Undergrad or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related field.
• Hands-on experience building applied AI/ML or GenAI solutions (e.g., RAG, summarization).
• Familiarity with MCP, Agent Skills, and tool-to-data interfaces.
• Familiarity with LLM patterns: embeddings, prompt orchestration, tool calls.
• Strong software engineering, design maintainable architectures, clean code.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Python; experience building APIs/services.
• Experience deploying solutions on AWS and cloud-native environments.
• Experience with CI/CD, code reviews, unit testing, deployment automation.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy GenAI and Agentic AI solutions for business workflows.
• Build LLM/SLM powered apps including RAG, summarization, copilots, and tooling.
• Engineer production-grade services using Java and/or Python (REST/gRPC).
• Develop prompt strategies, routing, guardrails, and automated evaluation.
• Create data pipelines and ML workflows on cloud services.
• Apply MLOps across experiments, versioning, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring.
• Implement testing, latency/cost benchmarking, and observability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders; translate complex topics for mixed audiences.
• Solve problems in ambiguous environments with multiple stakeholders.
