Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a GCSE Maths Tutor to support learners across Liverpool. This flexible role involves delivering 1:1 maths tuition to secondary students and helping them close gaps in understanding.

Ideal candidates are qualified Maths teachers or experienced tutors with knowledge of the GCSE Maths curriculum and a patient, engaging approach. Start date September 2026, 5–15 hours per week, ongoing.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching GCSE Maths
• Strong knowledge of the GCSE Maths curriculum
• QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification desirable
• Previous 1:1 tutoring experience advantageous
• Ability to identify and address individual learning gaps
• A supportive and engaging approach to teaching

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting experienced GCSE Maths Tutors to support learners across Liverpool!

The Opportunity

Are you a qualified Maths teacher or experienced Maths tutor looking for flexible work?

We are looking for confident and enthusiastic GCSE Maths Tutors to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to secondary-aged learners across Liverpool.

The students we support may have gaps in their education or require additional support to reach their academic potential. You'll work closely with individual learners, adapting your sessions to their needs and helping them develop both their mathematical skills and confidence.

• Hours: 5-15 hours per week

Experience and Qualifications

• Experience teaching GCSE Maths
• Strong knowledge of the GCSE Maths curriculum
• QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification desirable
• Previous 1:1 tutoring experience is advantageous

• A supportive and engaging approach to teaching

To be eligible for this role, you must:

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to process a new application
