Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking an experienced Maths and English Tutor to provide 1:1 educational support for a Year 11 learner in Cumbria. The role focuses on GCSE outcomes and involves working within a residential care setting to re-engage the learner with learning.

The ideal candidate will have SEMH experience, strong behaviour management, an Enhanced DBS, and the ability to work with professionals across services. Flexible hours offered with consultant support.

Qualifications

• Relevant teaching, tutoring, or educational qualification.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Experience supporting vulnerable learners.
• Strong safeguarding awareness.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 educational support to a Year 11 learner in a residential care setting.
• Help re-engage the learner with maths and English to GCSE level outcomes.
• Build trust, set clear boundaries, and apply trauma-informed approaches.
• Use effective behaviour management and work within a multi-agency framework.
• Build trust and positive relationships while ensuring consistent support and safeguarding.
