Job summary

Leeds City College is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor for a fixed-term reduced-year role at Quarry Hill Campus. You will support learners through Maths/English GCSE, supervise classes, and help maintain a positive learning environment while preparing resources and assisting staff.

The role is term-time (36 weeks) with a pro rata salary of £27,408 rising to £29,056 pro rata, with potential for permanence. 37 hours weekly with flexible opportunities and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge/experience of supporting learners with Maths and/or English GCSE.
• Ability to engage and motivate students 16–19 and 19+ in a supportive learning environment.
• Strong classroom management and proactive in facilitating learning.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes using pre-set work and ensure students remain engaged and on task.
• Clarify instructions and provide academic support during cover sessions.
• Record attendance and provide feedback on student progress to relevant staff.
• Support a caseload of students, monitoring progress and offering guidance.
• Work with curriculum teams to ensure consistency in delivery.
• Adapt to cover lessons across different course levels as required.
• Participate in invigilation, enrichment, or pastoral duties as needed.
• Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment and attend internal meetings.
