Job summary

Leeds City College is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor for a fixed term, reduced year role (term time only, 36 weeks) starting ASAP. You will deliver planned lessons, supervise classes and support learners aiming to GCSE Maths and/or English, while preparing resources and assisting teaching staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience of supporting learners with GCSE Maths and/or English.
• Experience of working with 16–19 and 19+ learners.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes using pre-set work and keep students engaged.
• Clarify instructions and provide academic support during cover sessions.
• Record attendance and report student progress to relevant staff.
• Support a caseload of students and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with curriculum teams to ensure consistent delivery.
• Adapt to cover lessons across different course levels.
• Participate in invigilation, enrichment, or pastoral duties.
• Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
