Job summary

TeacherActive Limited in the UK is working with a specialist SEMH provision in Tewkesbury to recruit an English Teacher. The post starts on 2 November 2026 and will involve delivering engaging English lessons up to GCSE/KS4 for students aged 11–16, within a supportive setting with small class sizes.

The ideal candidate will hold QTS with an English specialism, have experience teaching GCSE English, and be adept at managing SEMH needs and challenging behaviour while building strong relationships

Qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status / QTS with an English specialism.
Experience teaching English up to GCSE / Key Stage 4.
Experience supporting students with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour.
Strong classroom management and positive behaviour strategies.
Excellent communication and ability to build trusting relationships.
Patient, resilient and adaptable teaching approach.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging English lessons up to GCSE/KS4.
Adapt teaching to meet SEMH needs and behaviour management.
Support academic progress and personalised learning.
