Job summary

WPP Media is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our global team in the UK. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure using Google Cloud Platform services like BigQuery and Cloud Storage, with DBT for modeling.

You will collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering teams to transform complex requirements into robust data assets and ensure data quality across the enterprise. A hybrid work model is in place with office presence required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing, building and maintaining production data pipelines.
• Strong SQL and data transformation skills for complex data models.
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms, preferably GCP, including BigQuery and Cloud Storage.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure on GCP and Snowflake.
• Develop, test, and deploy data transformation logic using SQL and DBT to deliver reliable data models.
• Collaborate with analytics, product and engineering teams to translate data requirements into technical specs.
• Implement data quality and governance processes to ensure accuracy and consistency of datasets.
• Contribute to the data engineering roadmap by delivering key initiatives and projects.
• Develop and maintain monitoring for data pipelines to ensure availability and freshness.
• Optimize pipelines and queries for performance, scalability and cost-efficiency.
• Support data consumers by exposing data through APIs and visualisation tools like Power BI.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for data pipelines and processes.
