Job summary

Brompton Hall School in Scarborough is seeking an experienced Tutor to support the Gateway provision for Key Stage 4 pupils who have disengaged from education.

You will deliver personalised learning programmes, lead small group sessions, and work with families to encourage attendance and progress. The role is 39 weeks per year, 37 hours per week, term time plus 5 training days.

A passion for helping vulnerable young people and a good grasp of the National Curriculum are required.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age.
• Understanding of National Curriculum and related codes of practice (SEN, Equalities).
• GCSE English and Maths Grade A-C (or equivalent).
• Ability to build strong relationships with children, motivating and developing them.
• Passion for seeing young people succeed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure pupil welfare and safety.
• Deliver targeted interventions using ICT to enhance learning.
• Lead out-of-class activities and supervise students.
• Manage resources and adapt teaching strategies.
• Provide clear feedback and assist with planning.
• Support behaviour plans and safeguarding procedures.
• Encourage pupil engagement and independence.
• Attend meetings and contribute to school success.
