Job summary

GET Staff in Bristol and the South West is seeking an Automation Engineer to maintain and repair automated gate, barrier, door and shutter systems, ensuring safety and compliance.

You will perform PPM visits, diagnose faults on site, and work with prestigious clients to deliver high standards while developing your career within a growing safety and compliance group.

Qualifications

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across a nationwide customer base.
• Provide rapid breakdown attendance and fault diagnosis on-site.
• Undertake repair and remedial works on automated gates, barriers, doors and shutters.
• Perform detailed electrical and mechanical fault-finding on automated systems.
• Ensure all maintained systems operate safely and remain fully compliant with current industry standards.
• Complete service records, technical reports, and documentation accurately.
• Maintain strong, professional customer relationships and deliver excellent service.

Automation Engineer Overview:

A growing safety and compliance organisation is looking for a motivated and proactive Automation Engineer to join an expanding team, working across Bristol and the South West. This position involves carrying out maintenance, breakdown response, fault finding, repairs, and remedial works on a range of automated systems.

Automation Engineer Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven experience working with automated gates, barriers, doors, shutters or similar automation systems.
• Strong electrical competency and advanced fault-finding abilities.
• Good understanding of relevant safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
• DHF Level 2 qualification is required.
• Gate Safe IOSH certification is required.
• Manufacturer training certifications with leading automation providers.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to identify system opportunities for improvement and growth.
• Excellent communication, time management and problem-solving skills.
• A clean and full UK driving licence.
