GET Staff is seeking an Automation Engineer to cover Bristol and the South West. The role focuses on maintenance and fault-finding of automated systems across a wide client base.

You will work on gates, barriers, doors and shutters, ensuring safety and compliance while delivering high-standard service. This field-based position requires a proactive engineer with practical experience, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to manage a daily workload efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across a nationwide customer base.
• Provide rapid breakdown attendance and technical fault diagnosis on-site.
• Undertake repair and remedial works on automated gates, barriers, doors and shutters.
• Perform detailed electrical and mechanical fault-finding on automated systems.
• Ensure all maintained systems operate safely and remain fully compliant with industry standards.
• Complete service records, technical reports, and documentation accurately.
• Maintain strong, professional customer relationships and deliver excellent service.
• Work independently and manage daily workload effectively.
• Coordinate with clients to ensure minimal downtime during maintenance.

Automation Engineer Overview:

• * Good understanding of relevant safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
• * DHF Level 2 qualification is required.
• * Gate Safe IOSH certification is required.
• * Manufacturer training certifications with leading automation providers.
• * Commercial awareness with the ability to identify system opportunities for improvement and growth.
• * Excellent communication, time management and problem-solving skills.
• * A clean and full UK driving licence.
