Job summary

Brunel Fire & Security, part of the Obsequio Group, is seeking an Automation Engineer to maintain and fault-find on nationwide automated systems including gates, barriers, doors and shutters. The role emphasizes proactive maintenance, safe operation, and excellent customer service across a growing team.

The ideal candidate will perform PPM, breakdown response, repairs, and report accurately, with a full UK driving licence and a proactive, self-driven attitude to progress within the department.

Qualifications

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits on automated systems.
  • Fault diagnosis and breakdown attendance on gates, barriers, doors and shutters.
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding and remediation.
  • Ensuring systems operate safely and remain compliant with current standards.
  • Maintaining accurate service records and reports for clients.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving with customers and team.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and proactive Automation Engineer to join our growing team. This role involves carrying out maintenance, breakdown response, fault finding, repairs and remedial works on a range of automated systems including gates, barriers, doors and shutters across a nationwide customer base.

This position would suit an engineer who is self-driven, organised and takes pride in delivering a high standard of work. We are seeking someone with ambition, a positive attitude and a desire to develop their career while contributing to the growth of the department.
