Job summary

Sulzer GT Aero in Netherley near Stonehaven is seeking a Project Estimator / Proposals Engineer to prepare quotes for gas turbine repair and overhaul projects. You will analyse specifications, collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Production, and monitor margins and pricing models.

You will build strong customer and supplier relationships to reduce risk and maximise opportunities while contributing to project handovers and performance reviews.

Qualifications

• Strong financial acumen and forecast costs and margins.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Experience in estimating within the rotating equipment MRO industry.
• Knowledge of industrial gas turbines is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely quotations for gas turbine repair and overhaul projects.
• Analyse inspection reports and project specifications to calculate costs.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Production, and other internal teams.
• Ensure smooth commercial and technical handover to Project Engineers.
• Monitor and report on order value, margin reviews, and win rates.
• Maintain and update pricing models and standard scopes of work.
• Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers to reduce risk and maximise opportunities.
