Job summary

Gas Safe Register, in partnership with Capita, is recruiting a safety-focused gas-qualified professional to join our field services team across Leeds and surrounding areas. This field-based role requires travel and independent workload management, inspecting and reporting on gas safety standards for registered businesses.

You will carry out inspections, liaise with businesses, and ensure compliance with service levels, using your gas expertise to support nationwide safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum ACS certificates of competence: CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1 and HTR1.
• Experience working on gas appliances and/or quality control of gas work.
• Understanding of Health & Safety, Building Regulations and normative documents.
• Ability to risk assess environments and make safety decisions.
• Ability to use tools and undertake appropriate tests during inspections.
• Appreciation of issues affecting gas, plumbing, electrical and H&V installation businesses.

Responsibilities

• Carry out and complete inspections in line with risk model and contractual obligations with the client, the HSE.
• Complete inspections against Gas Industry Statutory and Normative documents and procedures.
• Liaise with registered businesses to ensure defects are understood and fixed within timescales.
• Complete inspection reports within the Service Level Agreement and expected standard.
• Take appropriate action when unsafe or illegal gas work is identified.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with registered businesses and gas consumers.
• Maintain technical knowledge and industry awareness through ongoing CPD.
