Job summary

Capita is recruiting a Gas Inspector to join the Gas Safe Register field services in Leeds and surrounding areas. The role involves independent work, inspecting gas businesses, reporting findings and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

You will carry out inspections, liaise with businesses and produce clear reports while maintaining high technical and safety standards. Travel across Leeds and nearby areas is required in this permanent, full-time role.

Qualifications

• ACS certificates CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1 and HTR1 are required.
• Experience with gas appliances and quality controlling gas work.
• Understanding of Health & Safety, Building Regulations and normative documents.
• Ability to risk assess environments and make safety decisions.
• Ability to use tools and undertake tests during inspections.
• Awareness of issues affecting gas, plumbing, electrical and HVAC installation businesses.

Responsibilities

• Carry out and complete inspections in line with the risk model and contractual obligations with HSE.
• Complete inspections against Gas Industry Statutory and Normative documents and internal procedures.
• Liaise with registered businesses to ensure defects are understood and completed within timescale.
• Complete inspection reports within SLA and to required standard.
• Take action when unsafe or illegal gas work is identified.
• Communicate clearly with registered businesses and gas consumers.
• Maintain technical knowledge and industry awareness through ongoing CPD.
