Job summary

Gas Safe Register are recruiting a safety-focused gas engineer to join our field services team covering Aberdeen, Inverness and surrounding areas. You will inspect, report and feed back on gas safety standards delivered by registered businesses in these regions.

You will manage a portfolio of registered businesses, ensuring inspections and reports align with SLAs and contractual obligations. A strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and effective communication with stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold ACS certificates: CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1, HTR1.
• Additional ACS certificates in LPG, Non-Domestic & Catering, LAU1 and DAH1 are a plus.
• Experience with gas appliances and quality control of gas work.
• Understanding of Health & Safety, Building Regulations and related codes; ability to risk assess environments.
• Desirable: Auditor qualification (D32/A1) or equivalent.
• Regular CPD to maintain technical knowledge and industry awareness.
• Awareness of issues affecting gas, plumbing, electrical and heating installation businesses.
• Ability to use tools and conduct tests during inspection.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections in line with risk model and contract obligations with HSE.
• Complete inspections per Gas Industry statutory and normative documents and internal procedures.
• Liaise with registered businesses to address defects within timescales.
• Ensure inspection reports are completed within Service Level Agreements.
• Take appropriate action when unsafe or illegal gas work is identified.
• Communicate effectively with registered businesses and gas consumers.
