Job summary

Cadent Gas is seeking an Assistant Authorising Engineer to join the Engineering and Operational Safety team. You will review and authorise engineering work, support SCO delivery, and ensure compliance with statutory regulations across Cadent's gas network.

As part of the team, you will engage with Local Delivery Partners, operational teams and technical specialists to uphold safety and reliability, influencing major operational decisions and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified engineer with Chartership or equivalent experience.
• Experience in gas/utilities/safety-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering assurance across Cadent's network activities.
• Review, inspect and authorise engineering work.
• Support Safe Control of Operations (SCO) delivery and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure compliance with PSSR, PSR, EWR, SCO processes and codes of practice.
• Engage with Local Delivery Partners and technical stakeholders to maintain standards.
