Job description

The City of York Council is currently recruiting Gas Heating Engineers with a passion for Customer Service. If you believe you could be an important addition to our team and provide exceptional customer care, we welcome your application.

Responsibilities include: service, maintenance, and fault diagnosis on gas/renewable technology heating systems, hot water storage, unvented systems, and their electrical controls; renewing and upgrading existing central heating systems, including boiler referrals.

You will deliver professional, high-quality, customer-oriented service to all internal and external customers of the Building Department.

Applicants should be apprentice-trained Gas/Heating engineers or demonstrate equivalent industry-approved training/assessment and experience in working to relevant standards/regulations.

Successful candidates will meet the following requirements:

1. Education and Training to NVQ level 3 in Plumbing/Heating or equivalent ACS
2. Gas-safe Registration or Certification
3. Energy Efficiency Training / Certification (desirable)
4. Understanding of Part
