Job summary

Build Recruitment Limited is seeking a Domestic Gas Engineer to cover Cornwall. The role involves servicing, maintenance, and repairs on domestic gas appliances and heating systems within social housing, ensuring Gas Safe compliance.

You will diagnose breakdowns, manage parts and job progression, use PDA to update work, and liaise with tenants. A full UK driving licence and ACS/Gas Safe qualifications are required; DBS will be carried out.

Qualifications

• Gas Safe registration required.
• ACS qualifications: CCN1, CPA1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience servicing and breakdowns; social housing experience.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on domestic gas appliances and heating systems.
• Diagnosing and rectifying breakdowns in social housing properties.
• Completing repairs safely and in line with Gas Safe regulations.
• Managing parts ordering and job progression for timely completion.
• Using PDA technology to update jobs and record work.
• Liaising with tenants and clients, delivering excellent customer service.
• Participating in the call-out rota (paid extra).

Domestic Gas Engineer (Servicing & Breakdowns) – Cornwall

Excellent salary offering of £42,000 plus a van and fuel card and on great call pay.

We are working with a leading provider of heating, maintenance, and renewable energy solutions within the social housing sector, to recruit an experienced Domestic Gas Service & Breakdown Engineer across Cornwall.

Duties of the Domestic Gas Engineer:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on domestic gas appliances and heating systems.
• Diagnosing and rectifying breakdowns in social housing properties.
• Completing repairs efficiently and in line with Gas Safe regulations.
• Managing parts ordering and job progression to ensure timely completion.
• Using PDA technology to update jobs, record work completed, and book parts.
• Liaising with tenants and clients, providing updates and delivering excellent customer service.
• Participating in the company call-out rota – paid extra, excellent way of earning extra money on top of your salary
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Requirements of the Domestic Gas Engineer role:

• Current Gas Safe registration
• ACS qualifications including:
  • CCN1
  • CPA1
  • CENWAT
  • CKR1
  • HTR1
• Previous experience carrying out gas servicing and breakdown work
• Experience within social housing or housing association contracts
• Full UK driving licence

A full DBS will be carried out for the successful candidate.
