Job summary

EQUANS is recruiting Gas Engineers to be based in Coleshill, Birmingham, covering social housing across the East and West Midlands. The role is permanent, full-time, and 40 hours per week, with a competitive salary and benefits package.

You will service, maintain and repair gas systems in residential and commercial properties, ensuring regulatory compliance and safety at all times. A strong driving record and Gas Safe qualifications are essential.

Qualifications

• Gas Safe registration and current certification.
• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing gas systems.
• Relevant NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 in gas engineering.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics of gas appliances and heating systems.
• Perform repairs and maintenance to ensure safety and performance.
• Respond to emergency service requests and troubleshoot issues.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used.
• Provide guidance to colleagues and communicate with tenants about work required.

General Overview:

The Gas Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient servicing, maintenance and repairs within residential and commercial properties. They ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies to uphold the safety and functionality of gas systems.

What will you deliver?

• Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics of gas appliances and heating systems.
• Perform repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
• Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and troubleshoot issues effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time spent.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other team members as needed.
• Liaise with clients and tenants to explain work required and provide maintenance advice.
• Any other reasonable management request.

Who are we looking for?

• Gas Safe registration (Gas Safe ID).
• Relevant NVQ or City & Guilds qualifications in gas engineering (minimum level 3).
• Basic knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in Construction
• Experience in gas appliance installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations pertaining to gas installations.
• Full UK driving license.
