Job summary

Sureserve is seeking an experienced gas maintenance engineer to service and repair heating and hot water systems acrossChelmsford region. You will diagnose faults, perform planned maintenance, and ensure high workmanship standards while delivering excellent customer service on every visit.

The role requires CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1 qualifications, a valid UK driving licence, and prior domestic gas experience. A permanent, full-time position with on-site work and on-call requirements is offered.

Salary: £42,000-45,000 per annum depending on experience + OTE

Location: Chelmsford coveringCM, CO, IP postcode areas

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 42.5 hours per week

Working pattern: Monday to Friday with on-call requirements

Holiday entitlement: 25 + Bank Holidays

About the role

Responsible for ensuring heating and hot water systems are operating safely, efficiently and reliably, helping customers stay comfortable in their homes. You'll diagnose faults, complete repairs, carry out planned maintenance, and provide a high standard of workmanship while delivering excellent customer service at every visit.

What you'll be doing

• Carry out service and maintenance works on a variety of domestic properties across the region

• Ensuring high levels of customer care in dealing with clients and tenants to meet the required quality standards

• Communicate updates and progress of work, completing the required paperwork electronically and manually

What we're looking for

• Valid domestic and/or commercial gas qualifications. As a minimum, successful candidates must have the following: CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1 (essential)

• Valid UK driving licence (essential)

• Previous practical experience in gas maintenance within a domestic capacity

• Solid understanding of gas safety regulations and industry standards

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently

• A professional and friendly attitude with the ability to forge strong relationships with both clients and tenants
