Job summary

Trespass is seeking a Garment Technologist in the UK to support product development and quality across supplier networks both in the UK and overseas. The role involves producing size specifications with designers, updating supplier manuals, and liaising with internal teams to meet timelines.

You will work closely with Buying, Design and suppliers to drive design accuracy, fit and quality while ensuring projects stay on budget.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of updating supplier manuals in line with new legislations.
  • Experience working with suppliers in the UK and overseas.
  • Ability to produce clear reports from data.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with internal stakeholders and management.
  • Experience requesting and approving test reports for new products.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently while owning areas of responsibility.
  • Strong written and verbal communication to influence colleagues.
  • Good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Buying and Design to progress effective product development and proactively manage quality assurance.
  • Ensure standards and specifications are kept up to date and communicated internally and externally.
  • Check and approve sample garments and make changes, including correcting faults.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and ensure on-time delivery in good condition.
  • Ensure garments can be produced within budget.
  • Risk assess products in terms of safety and analyse test reports.

Hours: 42.5 hours per week (8.30am to 5.30pm)

Role Overview

As a Garment Technologist you will join a team where your role will be vital to the success of the operation so being collaborative is essential.

This role will require a good communicator who can liaise with clients both in the UK and overseas, throughout the production process.

You would be responsible for producing detailed size specifications for all new artwork and ensuring all garments are fitted with designers and issuing updated size specifications.

Furthermore, you will be required to work closely with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure requirements are fulfilled.

  • Are you able to work in a busy fast paced environment, adaptable and not afraid of change?
  • Do you have Experience in pattern cutting and grading?
What does a typical day sound like?
  • Working closely with Buying and Design to progress effective product development and to proactively manage quality assurance
  • Ensuring that standards and specifications are kept up to date, and that these are effectively communicated internally and externally
  • Checking and approving sample garments and making any changes needed, including correcting faultsMaking sure garments are delivered on time and in good condition
  • Building up a good working relationship with suppliers
  • Making sure garments can be produced within budget
