Job summary

Tagged Resources Ltd is seeking an experienced Garment Technologist to join a leading licensed character clothing company. The role covers UK manufacture and offshore sourcing, with travel to factories in Turkey, China, India and Bangladesh to ensure day/nightwear, loungewear and swimwear meet retailer and legal requirements.

The position offers a friendly team environment, early finish on Fridays, and the option to work from home on Fridays.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' experience in a related area.
• Excellent communication with retailers and factories.
• Strong organisational and admin skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with retailers to ensure right-first-time outcomes.
• Create costings and buying samples worksheets.
• Request and follow up sealing samples and initial patterns from offshore factories.
• Measure and approve garments with retailers in person or via video conferencing.
• Manage critical path administration and production sample submissions.
• Create print patterns in Optitex for design and development.

The Company:

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Garment Technologist, to join a leading licensed character clothing company. Manufacture in the UK and source overseas, working with factories in Turkey, China, India and Bangladesh supplying day/nightwear, loungewear and swimwear. Design to the UK's largest high street retailers and online companies.

The Role:

• Responsibility of working with a number of retailers - aiming for a right first-time approach.
• Creating workbooks/ specs for costings and buying samples
• Requesting of sealing samples and initial patterns, from offshore manufacturers.
• Measuring and checking of garments, internal approvals where necessary samples fitted with retailers in person or over VC, and sending comments out to the factories.
• Working closely with the factories to ensure that the product meets Retailer & Legal requirements, and necessary risk assessments are carried out.
• Administration of the critical path
• Submission of final production samples and relevant documentation.
• Creating print patterns on Optitex for the design team to set up print packs
• Working on Optitex 3D to create patterns for design and development

Skills Required:

• We are looking for someone who can work as part of a team, with a positive attitude.
• Confident and clear communication skills, both verbal and written, with manufacturers, retailers and within the office environment.
• Someone who is well organised and flexible, with a logical and analytical mind, and excellent administration skills
• Someone who works well under pressure, with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
• Full driving licence is essential.
• Knowledge of 3D software, i.e. Optitex/ Browzwear/ CLO, would be advantageous, training can be provided
• 2-3 years' experience in a related area
• Willing to travel to retailers for fittings.
