As a key member of our grounds team, you will contribute to maintaining the stunning, landscaped gardens that create a beautiful, tranquil environment for our guests. Previous experience in a similar role and a strong eye for detail are essential. A horticultural qualification is desirable but not required. This role reports directly to the Head Gardener.

Working Pattern: Shift work (5 days on, 2 days off)

Salary:£25,397 per annum

Key Responsibilities of aGardener:

• Planting, watering, pruning, and nurturing a variety of seasonal plants, flowers, and trees.
• Mowing, scarifying, aerating, and weeding lawns to maintain pristine outdoor spaces.
• Preparing and cultivating soil for planting or sowing new greenery.
• Identifying and managing pests to protect the health of the garden.
• Mulching, edging, raking, and collecting leaves to keep gardens neat and attractive.
• Maintaining and ensuring the proper operation of gardening tools and machinery, including mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers.
• Collaborating with the team to create visually pleasing outdoor spaces that meet the needs and preferences of the hotel and its guests.

What are we looking for?

• Previous experience in a similar gardening or groundskeeping role, ideally within a luxury hotel or estate environment.
• A genuine love for plants and gardening with an excellent eye for detail.
• Ability to plan and manage tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a positive, proactive attitude.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and handle the physical demands of gardening.
• A horticultural qualification is desirable, though not essential.
