Job summary

VGC Group is seeking an experienced Ganger for a Birmingham project. The role is full-time with a 50-hour workweek and £21.29 per hour PAYE.

The position requires at least two years of site supervisory experience and safety qualifications such as CSCS, SSSTS, and CPCS where possible. The successful candidate will lead a team of construction workers, assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with project standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction supervision experience.
• CSCS LVL 2 Card and related safety qualifications preferred.
• SSSTS/CPCS certifications are advantageous.

Ganger - Birmingham - £21.29 per hour PAYE

VGC Group are looking for experienced Ganger to start on a project in Birmingham. This contract is available to start ASAP and we can offer up to 2 years worth of work to a successful candidate.

Role: Ganger

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £21.29 per hour PAYE

Hours: 50 hours per week

Contract: Full time

Experience: 2 years +

Qualifications: Blue CSCS NVQ LVL 2 Skilled Card, SSSTS, CPCS preferable.

Ganger experience

• Lead and supervise a team of construction workers.
• Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and experience.
• Ensure that all work is performed to the highest standards of quality.
• Inspect completed work to verify compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Address any issues or deficiencies promptly to maintain quality.
• Monitor the progress of work and ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
• Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols.
• Perform risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate hazards.
• Maintain accurate records of work activities, progress, and any incidents.
• Complete and submit necessary reports and documentation as required.
• Ensure that all workers use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report any incidents, near-misses, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Based in Birmingham remuneration for this role is £21.29 per hour,

• you will accrue holiday entitlement and be eligible to join the VGC pension scheme once certain criteria have been met.
