Job summary

Reliable Contractors Limited is recruiting an experienced Ganger for the BBV HS2 project, based near Solihull with on-site duties from CV7 7BP. This is a full-time, long-term assignment starting as soon as vetting, medical and on-site induction are completed.

The ideal candidate holds a Blue CSCS Skilled Worker Card, valid EUSR, and SSSTS/SMSTS, plus proven Ganger experience on civil engineering or infrastructure works.

Qualifications

• Must have Blue CSCS Skilled Worker Card.
• Valid EUSR qualification relevant to the role.
• Valid SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
• Previous experience working as a Ganger on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of site health and safety procedures.
• Ability to coordinate and support site operatives.
• Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate gangs of operatives to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Allocate daily tasks and monitor progress against site requirements.
• Ensure operatives follow drawings, instructions and site specifications.
• Coordinate with site management, supervisors and other trades.
• Monitor work quality and productivity.
• Promote safe working practices and ensure site rules are followed.
• Report progress, issues and hazards to site management.
• Attend briefings and follow project health and safety procedures.

GANGER Solihull / CV7 7BP FULLTIME BBV A chance to work on one of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK, spanning over the next 5 7 years (HS2). Reliable Contractors are recruiting for an experienced Ganger to join the BBV HS2 project. Long-term work is available for the right candidate with the correct cards, tickets and experience, offering stable employment and regular income for the foreseeable future. Assignment Details Employment Type: Full-time Payment Basis: PAYE Paid Holidays: 31 days per year (including bank holidays) Start Date: As soon as possible following successful vetting checks, medical and on-site induction Assignment Duration: Ongoing / until further notice Location: CV7 7BP Must Have

Shifts

Working days: Monday to Friday. Start time: 7:00am 7:30am. Finish time: 5:00pm 5:30pm. Overtime Monday to Friday: Time and a third after 10 hours. Nights: Time and a third. Saturdays and Sundays: Time and a half. All night hours: Time and a half.

Health and Safety Risks

The successful candidate will be expected to promote and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring site rules, procedures and relevant health and safety requirements are followed.

Key risks associated with the role include:

• Moving plant and vehicles: Ensure safe segregation and compliance with site traffic management procedures.
• Live site operations: Maintain communication and ensure operatives follow safe systems of work.
• Manual handling and groundworks: Ensure tasks are planned and carried out safely.
• Slips, trips and falls: Maintain safe access routes and tidy working areas.
• Site supervision: Identify hazards, report unsafe conditions and ensure appropriate controls are followed. All site-specific risks and control measures must be confirmed through the project RAMS, risk assessments and site induction.
