Job summary

The New Art Gallery Walsall is seeking a Security Assistant to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for visitors, staff and contractors. You will patrol, monitor CCTV, respond to incidents and support events to ensure the venue runs smoothly.

Role requires flexibility, reliability and weekend/evening work as standard, with training provided. Current SIA licences are essential and a full induction will be offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in security or public-facing roles is essential.
• Solid understanding of health and safety principles.
• Current SIA licences in both door supervision and CCTV surveillance are required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV and patrol the venue to ensure safety during opening hours.
• Open/lock the site as a keyholder and respond to alarms/out-of-hours needs.
• Support visitors and colleagues, protect collections, and assist during events and hires.
