Job summary

Babcock International invites applicants to join its Mechanical Engineering Graduate Programme at HM Naval Base Clyde, Scotland. Over two years, you will rotate through placements every several months, working on submarines, surface ships, and nuclear projects while developing leadership and technical skills.

You’ll receive structured support, mentorship, and training toward Chartered/ Incorporated Engineer status, with BPSS and Security Check requirements and a starting salary of £35,000.

Qualifications

• You must have or be on track for a BEng or MEng in Mechanical, Structural, Motorsport, Materials, Mechatronics, Engine Systems, Welding, Automotive or AeroMechanical.
• You must be able to achieve BPSS and Security Check (SC) clearance, subject to GOV.UK security vetting.
• This programme is restricted to UK nationals.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through placements over two years to gain broad engineering experience.
• Contribute to design reviews, stress analysis, and the integration of mechanical systems.
• Support lifecycle activities from concept to in-service and decommissioning.
