Job summary

Siemens Mobility offers a 36-month Degree Apprenticeship aligned to the Level 6 Rail & Rail Systems Senior Engineer standard. Based in the UK, the programme features block release with 20% study time, mentorship, and a final pathway to a Switchgear engineer role and a Digital and Technology Solutions degree.

You’ll work in the Electrification centre of excellence with rotations across sites such as Birmingham and London, travelling as required.

Qualifications

A Levels BBB including Mathematics and/or Physical Sciences (120 UCAS points) OR
Level 3 Rail Engineering Apprenticeship OR
BTEC National Diploma DDM with Level 3 Mathematics and Physical Sciences (128 UCAS points) OR
EAL Technical Extended Diploma in Engineering Technologies including relevant maths/science
Access to HE with 24 Distinctions and 21 Merits, with maths/physical sciences focus OR
Equivalent Level 3 qualifications worth 120 UCAS points with maths/physical sciences
5 GCSEs A-C including Maths and English or equivalent
Ability to work independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership; be proactive
Enjoy collaborating with others to solve problems

Responsibilities

Understand high power electrical equipment designs.
Develop and implement electrical wiring designs in CAD software.
Design physical and mechanical installation of electrical systems.
Gain hands-on experience in installation, testing and commissioning.
Collaborate on real projects transforming UK rail systems and decarbonisation efforts.
Attend rotations within the Power Conversion delivery team.
