Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Birmingham offers a Level 6 Electrification - High Voltage & Switch Gear Degree Apprentice for 36 months with block release and End Point Assessment, provider London Southbank University. You’ll work on cutting-edge power systems and gain hands-on design experience.

You will rotate through projects, receive mentoring, and study for a Digital and Technology Solutions degree, with 20% of time allocated to study (paid). Travel to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• A Levels BBB including Mathematics and/or Physical Sciences (120 UCAS points).
• Level 3 Rail Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent.
• BTEC National Diploma DDM with Maths & Physical Sciences (128 UCAS points).
• GCSEs A-C including Maths and English; strong technical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Learn to design high power electrical equipment and wiring installations using CAD tools.
• Work on real projects within the Electrification Switchgear delivery team in Birmingham.
• Balance hands-on design work with academic study (20% of weekly time paid).
• Progress toward Switchgear engineer role and EngTech registration.
